Manny Pacquiao vs Joshua Clottey on March 13, 2010 is expected to be a good fight, but there is some question about if it will be the biggest fight of the year. Mayweather vs Pacquiao would have been the biggest fight of the year, but that fight may never happen if the two fighters can’t come to an agreement over blood testing issues.
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. will fight Shane Mosley on May 1st. The unbeaten Mayweather has been a bigger draw when it comes to pay-per-view buys, and that fight is expected to bring in more pay-per-view buys.
Bob Arum, Pac’s promoter needs the Saturday night Pac vs. Clottey fight to do really well in PPV buys, so he can get Pac the money he deserves if Pac and Mayweather decide to fight each other later this year.
Pacman is clearly the favorite in the Saturday night fight against Clottey, and many people believe that Arum could have done a better job at finding a better opponent and a more popular fighter for Pac to fight; which of course, translates into more PPV money.
At weigh in Clottey weighed in at 147 and Pac weighed in just under 146. Fight time from the Dallas Cowboys stadium is 6 pm pacific time on HBO’s pay-per-view.
